Feature Requests

In my opinion, one feature that puts the device leagues behind others is the lack of heart rate zone analysis. I’ve found that the ring has so much potential from a workout-measuring perspective, yet lacks a feature that seems so obvious when assessing against comparable health devices.

With the integration of AI/ChatGPT we could ask questions like “what tags are associated with my best sleep scores?” Currently we have to look through all of the scores by day/week/month and try to remember which tags were used on which days to make any sense of the data

One of the few things that really annoys me about the Oura app is that when I realize I forgot to manually enter a workout for yesterday I just can't. Same thing if I get home late at night and want to add a workout from before midnight. Please add this functionality. It clearly is possible since the app also asks me about yesterday's workouts and then adjusts my activiy score accordingly.

I understand that most people probably run or bike with the ring, but you have other activities listed in a tag later for activities - why not let us live track those as well?

I'd appreciate improvements with tagging. Adding a "from" - "until" data range for the tags would make it easier to tag specific activities. Right now it's a bit annoying to tag 2-3 things that I test (or that happen to me) every single day. Example: Tagging "light therapy", "cold room", "common cold" every day.

I'd like something preprogrammed or an alert I can set myself. For example: IF - body temp goes up more than +.02 AND overnight sleep heart rate goes down by more than 3bpm AND HRV - goes down by more than 2 Then I would like to receive a notice that something is wrong and that my system is strained.

It would be great to be able to set notifications for selected factors downloaded from Ring. For example, if the temperature was higher than +1C from the base temperature -> send notification. It would be a great feature for proper planning of activities (taking medication, skipping training, etc.)

With Oura rings being able to accurately track sleep cycles, there should be a feature like the popular app 'Sleep Cycle'. This app allows the user to set a wake-up window (15-45minutes long) and will start playing your alarm when you are at your 'prime' to wake up. The app unfortunately calculates this through the microphone, aka listening to when you might rustle and then start playing the alarm softly, gradually getting louder. It works extremely well still, and my sleep is much better waking up within my prime window than at a specific time. Since Oura can more accurately track sleep cycles, they should incorporate this feature. The only 'problems' people have mentioned with it is that this feature may drain the battery and that Oura only syncs with the app when the app is open. I can go weeks without opening my iOS app and all my data is still there. And by setting a wake-up 'window', 30 minutes before the phone can prompt the app/ring at the designated time, then it can send the data, and determine when to start the alarm. It doesn't have to constantly be syncing data the entire night. Also, this feature would be something I would be okay with paying a subscription fee for. Sleep cycle is $40 a year for premium features. Many Oura ring users (and users of wearable technology in general) abhor the current subscription model which locks your data behind a paywall which should be free since the technology isn't offering you any additional services, just providing you with the data it records. Whereas a sleep cycle feature is an additional service one could argue. I still believe wearable technologies shouldn't have subscriptions at all with the high costs of the initial purchase (But I understand that model is smart business for the company to stay afloat - and the cost of Oura is much lower than say Whoop) , but including this feature is one-way Oura can provide a 'service' to the user to better justify a subscription cost if that is a permanent feature for the foreseeable future.

Currently, it is not possible to indicate a specific time at which the application will connect to Ring and download data from it. The process is performed at an unknown time, which causes a bit of frustration, because in order to have the data earlier, I have to remember to enter the application and refresh the data manually. It could do it in the background.

It would be great to be able to add widgets of selected parameters (taken from all over of data) and not only to Sleep Stages and Bedtime.
